IT Systems Management & Security Student bridging the gap between hardware infrastructure, secure enterprise networks, and dedicated end-user support.
I’m an enthusiastic and driven professional currently pursuing my Diploma in IT Systems Management and Security at the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). With a growing expertise in networking, system administration, and technical support, I am focused on building a career in IT while leveraging my diverse background in customer service and hands-on maintenance.
My Career Goals: I am aiming to become a versatile Systems Administrator and Help Desk Technician, specifically within enterprise environments like the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Whether it's managing a network, assisting customers, or deploying hardware, I pride myself on being adaptable and dedicated to continuous learning.
Ultimately, this constant drive to build and support feeds into my long-term ambition: continuing to grow my own IT enterprise, Done Right Tech Company.
A showcase of the infrastructure and network designs I have built, demonstrating how my NSCC education directly translates to employer benefits.
The Project: Operating as a completely separate entity from my personal business, I designed and deployed a scalable enterprise infrastructure for a simulated company using Unifi networking equipment and a multi-tier Active Directory environment.
Employer Benefit: Demonstrates my ability to safely segment and route complex networks. In environments like healthcare, this ensures organizational and patient data remains secure and highly available across different departments.
The Project: Architected the internal production network for my own IT business. Built on a Windows Server 2022 platform utilizing a single domain controller (drtc.net) with secure remote access integration via Twingate.
Employer Benefit: Proves I can independently deploy, secure, and troubleshoot a live business network from the ground up. This translates directly to reliable, proactive system administration for future employers.
The Project: A dedicated testing environment utilizing Type-1 hypervisors (Proxmox/ESXi) to experiment with diverse open-source Linux and Windows server environments.
Employer Benefit: Technology evolves constantly. My homelab is proof that I am a self-starter. When an employer introduces new software, I already have the proven ability to independently research, deploy, and master it.
